Probably having something to do with the fact that Godzilla trampled the competition at the box office this weekend, the decision's been made by Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. to officially go forward with a Godzilla 2.
Godzilla "raawwwr"ed up a mighty $93.2 million in its opening domestic weekend. Add that to the $103 million it's already earned intentionally and you've got a total sum equals definite sequel.
Director Gareth Edwards has already stated that if a sequel was ever made, he'd use the same anticipation model he used for the first movie - where, like in Spielberg films, the monster is talked about for the first half of the movie before it's finally revealed.
